Welcome the MCS Choir Fest 2017!
Welcome! We are incredibly excited to introduce you to MCS Choir Fest 2017. If you do not already know, Maranatha Christian School is hosting a number of schools from around the country for a wonderful time of singing, fun, and fellowship. If you are not already a part of the program, you are welcome to join us at one of our two concerts. Information about them will come as it is available. Thank you, and we hope to see you there.

Watch videos, show your students where to find them.

Be able to sing every song on solfege.

Solos are open to all interested parties. Teachers, encourage your students to audition. I would love to have a surplus. Send a recording to fmille12@kent.edu Most smart phones are adequate for this. Please send these in by April 6th.

Be prepared to share a video of your songs as you progress. This will keep us in the loop and we can see other schools and be slightly more familiar with each other at the festival.

Balance parts as much as possible. Especially Soprano 1 and 2. I prefer more voices on Soprano 2. For higher tenor parts "Beautiful Savior", ask a few talented altos to lend a cord :) Trust me, my humor is worse in real life.

If you can sing the piece as a group, it will make your rehearsal experience better and when we get together in April, AND we won’t have balance problems. For notes that are too low for your basses, have them take the upper octave.
